RNC national spokesman Paris Dennard ‘no longer works’ for party: Report

The national spokesman for the Republican Party no longer works for the Republican National Committee, a party official confirmed Friday.

The party fired Paris Dennard, a supporter of former President Donald Trump who has served as the national spokesman and director of black media affairs for the committee since 2020, RNC chief of staff Mike Reed said.

“Paris Dennard no longer works for the RNC,” Reed said in a statement to Politico. “We don’t comment on personnel matters.”

No reason for Dennard’s departure has been given, but the report noted that the move occurred earlier this week, and Dennard claims he’s a “former spox for the RNC” on his Twitter biography. The Washington Examiner has reached out to the RNC for comment.

Dennard, who worked at the White House under former President George W. Bush from 2005-09, is a staunch supporter and on-air defender of Trump. He served on Trump’s commission on White House Fellowships in 2018 and on the advisory board for Black Voices for Trump during the 2020 reelection campaign. His role included helping the former president receive more black votes.

Sexual assault allegations were made against the former spokesman in 2014 during his tenure at Arizona State University. Dennard was dismissed from a job at the university for making “sexually explicit comments and gestures toward women,” the Washington Post reported in 2018, citing an internal investigation from the university four years earlier. His contributing role at CNN was suspended as a result. Dennard has denied the allegations.
