Spider-Man on the PS4 is a great game that many people all over the world enjoy. But what good is a fun time if there aren’t individuals that attempt to ruin it? Many games journalists are attempting to play the role of “ruiner” with their critique of your favorite friendly neighborhood webslinger.
Apparently, he is too cozy with police officers for these people … in this fantasy place based on a representation of New York City.
Many “articles” (think-pieces) have been written about the issue. Their main, collective grip seems to be that the game is “tone deaf.” Since Spiderman is going around and beating up bad guys, working hand in hand with the police, it seems as if they want the police to be viewed from a more critical standpoint. Shootings of unarmed black men and political organizations were mentioned.
If some of the more radical and destructive viewpoints of police that have been displayed on television were acted out in the game, then I doubt that these individuals would see anything wrong. When it’s all said and done, the efforts of these crazy individuals on the left won’t do anything to take away the brilliance that is the Spider-Man video game on the Playstation 4. Even if a handful of non-gendered individuals do give it a few likes and shares.
